Transportation to Tübingen
The nearest airport is Stuttgart. From there, you can take the Airport Sprinter (bus line 828), which will take you to the central bus station in Tübingen in just under an hour. Frequent regional trains between the central stations of Stuttgart and Tübingen, which take approximately an hour, connect Tübingen to the long-distance railway system.
Local transportation and parking
From the central train station, you can take bus line 3, which will take you directly to the bus stop “Max-Planck-Institute”. Alternatively, use bus line 4 and get out at the bus stop “Niethammerstraße”, about 300m walking distance from the Max Planck campus.
The bus lines 3 and 4 also pass close to the city center (bus stops “Neckarbrücke” and “Wilhelmstraße”), where you will find a variety of German and international restaurants, as well as historic sights.
